Arrived yesterday afternoon to a sun baked city holding the clouds at bay.
Embracing the goodness, putting the balm on old wounds, if only for a moment.
The burial ground on the hill opposite our room with a view hosts white tablets neatly arranged, telling you who is nourishing the soil below.
We live on, listening to their words of advice and guidance.
Walked into FIS Kultura for a DJ set, but first we were introduced to Maja Petrovna with Francesco Mendolia. She guitars and keyboards it, lacing songs with industrial, theatrical, operatic, atmospheric movements, and spacious reverb’d vocals, Nick Cave and Billie Holliday came to mind. Francesco is one of the freshest drummers I’ve witnessed in a very long name, great jazz chops. He’s doing stuff with Incognito at the moment too.
